Celebrating True Brittany Versatility

Since 2015, the American Brittany Club has recognized the exceptional dogs who excel across field, show, and performance with the Versatile Dog (VD)
and Versatile Dog Excellent (VDE) titles. Dogs who qualified in previous years remain eligible as long as they—and their owners—meet today’s requirements.

Who Makes It Happen?

Our Versatile Dog Committee is made up of a dedicated Chair and experienced members representing all areas of Brittany excellence: field, show, and performance.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for a VD or VDE title:

• • • Every owner of the dog must be a current Full or Associate Member of the ABC by March 1 of the award year.

    • Associate Membership is available only to those living in the same household as a Full Member and does not include voting privileges.

How the Process Works

• • • The committee provides a simple application form for owners to complete.

    • Owners track their own dog’s accomplishments and submit the finished application to the Coordinator.

    • Every owner of a dog earning the title receives a recognition certificate.

Honoring Our Achievers

The Versatile Dog Coordinator keeps an official record of all title holders, and these are proudly published on the American Brittany Club website.

Show It Off!

Dogs who earn a VD or VDE title may add that designation as a suffix to their registered name—recognizing their all-around excellence.
(Please remember that this is an ABC title, not an AKC title.)
