1988 IAMS All-Age Brittany of the Year Award
Markar's Jac's A Dan D
Oil Painting by Artist Ross Young (www.rossyoung.com)
Markar's Jac's A Dan D was this year's winner of the Iam's Brittany All-Age Award.
Consistency throughout the year brought this award back to him for the second time in three years.
Owned by Bob Weisz and handled by Jim Holman, Jac is an 8 1/2 year old male whose adult career started to blossom when he won the Pheasant Classic in 1985.
In 1986 he won the National Championship and the All-Age Award, followed by his runner-up win in the National Amateur Championship in 1987.
Jac has demonstrated consistency and stamina throughout his career, and beginning to leave his mark at stud as well.
The Iam's Award presentation was again held at the clubhouse of the Blue Mountain Wildlife Demonstration Area near Booneville, Arkansas.
Roy Pelton, Iam's field representative, was on hand to present the award to the happy owners and handler following the happy hour.
Our appreciation goes out to the Iam's Company and Roy for their sponsorship of the All-Age Award.
Also on hand for the presentation was artist Ross Young, who has recently moved back to Springfield, MO, from the Northeast.
Ross has been commissioned to paint a portrait of Jac for Bob and Mary Weisz.
This year's award ceremony was attended by Brittany trialers from all over the U.S.
The interest in the Iam's award has continued to grow since its inception three years ago.
Four new American Field stakes have been started over the past two years, and another is to start up this spring.
Good things are yet to come!
